Coral Garden by Jacky Mak

Complete your home or work space with a piece from the ocean with artworks by Singapore-based artist Jacky Mak for Seastainable!

For the month of July, we are dedicating our profits from every painting and Seastainable product for the benefit of Save Philippine Seas to support their mooring buoy project for marine protected areas in Malapascua Island, Cebu in the Philippines. The island is home to rich marine biodiversity and marine species like the treasured thresher shark. By protecting marine protected areas, we are also able to protect coastal communities in Malapascua by providing alternative livelihood through sustainable tourism.

About our collaboration

Save Philippine Seas (SPS) is an NGO in the Phiilppines that aims to narrow the gap between scientists and the general public, the old and young, and the passionate and indifferent by mobilizing citizen led initiatives for collective action and behavior change. We continue believe that careers in conservation are not just for scientists and NGOs. Beyond these professions, there are no limits in who can get involved in sustainability and conservation, regardless of your background. From educators, entrepreneurs, students, artists, and citizens like yourself, the boundaries are endless. Our collaboration with Jacky hopes to highlight and inspire individuals that anyone has a part in protecting our oceans.

About the artist

Jacky Mak is a Singapore-based artist who specialises in large vibrant murals & paintings. Common qualities uniting his work would include layers of thick brushstrokes, playful use of colour & a focus on the surrounding atmosphere. Inspired by nature in all forms, he seeks to capture the essence of these subjects be it an entire mountain range or just a fox chilling in the sun.

First picking up a paintbrush about 10 years ago, Jacky has since produced an expansive body of both commissioned and personal paintings. With a degree in landscape architecture, he has also dabbled in fields such as art direction in the film industry, theatre set design & illustration. He credits his love for painting & artistic growth to his high school art teachers Lowell Farlow & Danny Toh.
